Muslim - Prayer & Quran works on your device first. An account is optional, there is no advertising profile and no tracking.
Without an account
Your settings, bookmarks, reading progress, prayer log, tasbih counts, goals and assistant history are stored only on your phone. Deleting the app deletes them.
With an account
If you create an account we store your email address, a hashed password, your display name and language, and a backup of the app data above so it can be restored on another phone. You can delete your account and this data at any time from Me → Account → Delete account.
Location
If you allow it, your location is used on the device to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction. To show your city name, the coordinates are sent once to a public geocoding service. We do not store your location on our servers.
Content
Quran text, translations, tafsir, recitations and hadith are served from our own servers, with public content services (Al Quran Cloud, Quran.com, Islamic Network CDN, mp3quran.net and the fawazahmed0 hadith API) as fallback. These requests contain what you are reading, not who you are.
AI assistant
When you ask the assistant a question, the question and the matching passages from the app's sources are sent to our server, which forwards them to Anthropic's Claude model to write the answer. Questions are not linked to your account and are not stored on our server. Your conversation history stays on your device.
Notifications
Prayer and reminder notifications are scheduled on your device. If you allow push notifications, your device token, language and time zone are stored so we can send occasional announcements (for example Ramadan start). You can turn this off in your phone's settings.
Analytics and advertising
The app does not collect analytics or crash reports and does not share data with data brokers. If advertising is added in a future version, this policy will be updated first and the app will ask for permission where the law requires it.
Children
The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
